- Take progress photos to track your success and see physical change. Since you see yourself every single day it can be hard to see changes that are happening. Taking weekly photos in a swim suit or shorts and sports bra will show you the fruits of your labor. There might be some weeks were you see more progress than others and this is okay. Do some side by side photos from when you first started and if you’ve been working hard and breaking a sweat you are going to see a difference. I recommend progress photos opposed to tracking the number on the scale. For health reasons you might want to know what that number is but it should not be your driving force. Which moves me to my next tip…
- You have to want to see change. This journey should reflect the person you are working hard to be. Health, self-love, and mental health have been my driving forces through this journey and I think this is a better way to measure your success than a number. You’ll find when you stop focusing on weight and start focusing on changes in your mind and body you’ll feel much more pride in your journey.
- Be proud. Who likes all work and no play? Not me! When I’ve had a killer week I’ll treat myself. Or who am I kidding if I have a hard day I treat myself. This can be as simple as a tiny tiny piece of chocolate, a small glass of wine, an extra 30 minutes of sleep in the morning, or as big as you buying yourself those jeans you’ve been lusting after. However, you might want to put off that jean purchase because I know you’re going to break a sweat this month and you might need a smaller size ;). You are working hard so be proud of that!
- Start a positivity journal. This is just what it sounds like. It’s a safe space for you to write the most awesome, outlandish, self-adsorbed things about yourself you can think of. You think your butt is looking good? Tell yourself. Think your going to rock that project at work? Tell yourself. Not feeling beautiful? TELL YOURSELF you are! Use this space to talk to yourself in the most positive way possible. The act of physically writing this words will help you actually feel way you want to feel. If you can write these things down and then read them out loud that’s even better. It’s instrumental to your success that you feel you can be successful and that you believe in yourself.
Thank you all for stopping by today and I hope you have all received a little motivation from this post.
