Makeup Revolution Hot or Not | Full Review

Hello beauties,

Over the past few months I've picked up a few things from the brand Makeup Revolution. I'm super impressed with this brand overall, the quality of the products are great, and the price is amazing. I have a range of eyes, lips, and face products. There is much more from the line I'd like to try but I think this range of products has given me a pretty good idea of the quality of the brand as a whole.

First up the blush palette in Hot Spice, this palette is $10. It has 8 blushes, six matte shades and two highlighting shades. They are all in the pinky peach range and can be used in their own or layered to create your perfect shade. Each of them are super pigmented and last really well throughout the day. The two shimmery shades in this palette work beautifully layered on top of the matte blushes to create a gorgeous shine on the checks.

Next I have the Run Boy Run Salvation Eye Shadow Palette. This palette is a great price, for $10 you get 18 eyeshadow shades, 12 shimmer and 6 matte shades. Sadly, many of the matte shades end up looking the same on the lid. The formula is wonderful I just wish there was more variety. The shimmery shades are gorgeous! With a little MAC Fix + they are even more pigmented and look amazing on the lid!

This next palette was actually sent to me by a subscriber before this brand was available in the US, it's the Iconic 1 Redemption Eye Shadow Palette. The quality of this palette is really great. Pigmentation is there and it's for sure a dupe for the Urban Decay NAKED Palette. At $7 for this palette you really can't go wrong! They shades are spot on and the Urban Decay NAKED original. These shades preform well on their own but even better with MAC Fix +.

The second face product I tried from the brand is this Vivid Baked Highlighters Peach Lights. I'm a big fan, it's $6, pigmented, gives your skin a gorgeous pearly peach highlight, and looks holographic which is pretty cool!

On to one of my most favorite products, the Vivid Shimmer Brick in Radiant. This highlight is $7 and really can't be beat for the price.  This highlighter is wonderful because it's like four shades in one. You can mix them all together for a warmer hight or use the lightest shades for a soft golden look. It gives the skin a radiant and is simple to use.

Let me know your favorite products in the comments below.

Kat Von D Shade + Light Eye Contour Palette

Hello beauties,

Thank you for stopping by today. I'm so happy to let you know that I love this palette!! These shadows are pigmented, versatile, easy to use, and create gorgeous looks. There are there are 12 shadows total, three larger pans and nine smaller pans. This palette is styled to have three quads a warm, cool, and neutral. I don't like to be put in a box so I generally just mix and match the shades how I like :) You can pick this palette up at Sephora for $46.

The shadows are wonderful and the packaging is great too. Sleek black packaging with a great sized mirror. This palette looks just like the Kat Von D Shade + Light Contour Palette, this one just holds eyeshadows.

While I love this palette as a whole not every shade is created equal. There are some that are a lot more pigmented or a little easier to work with but all and all I do recommend this palette if you're looking for a great all matte palette. Even if you generally love shimmer, great matte shades are must and this palette offers a great range at a good price.

Video review of this palette at the left and a tutorial using this palette at the right. Simply click to watch!

I highly recommend this palette. Even if you're like me and you love your shimmer and glam these matte shades are a great addition to any collection. The formula is great not equal throughout but these can all be built up to create gorgeous looks!

Thank you for reading!

BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Glow Palette Review | BeautyWithBrittanyXo

Hello beauties,

When Jaclyn Hill collaborated with Becca Cosmetics to released Champagne Pop it was an extremely exciting time. Not only because it was an amazing product but also because it's incredible to see a fellow YouTuber have such great success. I did purchase a full size Champagne Pop and am still loving that. This Glow Palette is still a must for me. This palette is $34 and it available exclusively at Sephora. Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Powders are absolutely amazing. There pigmentation and blendabilty are outstanding and this palette is no exception.

I love the shade range in this palette. It's got a little bit of everything you'd need to highlight and great a gorgeous radiance to the skin. I've been loving mixing Pearl and Champagne Pop together to create an amazing highlight onto the top of the cheek bones. Blushed Copper is extremely pigmented and for my pale skin a little bit right on top of my blush creates the most gorgeous glow!

I highly recommend this palette and for $34 it's a great palette for the price. The pans are smaller than a full size Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector but still a great size and comes in an awesome compact palette.

Highly recommend if you can get your hands on this palette BUY IT! It's limited edition and a great addition to any makeup lovers collection.

Anastasia Self-Made Palette Review | BrittanyXo

Hello beauties,

Happy November :) hope you have all had a beautiful start to the month.

Most of my experience with Anastasia products has to do with brows. I've been a fan of her tinted brow gel for years now. I'm happy to announce that since trying these shadows I don't know if I can skip out on any of her future palettes. These shadows are pigmented, blendable, smooth, and true to color. This palette retails for $35 at Ulta and Sephora. There are 14 eyeshadows and one double ended brush.

I'm generally not a fan of the double ended brushes that come with a lot of palettes however, I did find this one to work really well and the shape of both brushes have great function for this palette. The bristles are not that soft but they do get the job done.

The packaging of this palette is great from the outside but does feel a little cheap on the inside. It by no means feels like it's going to fall apart of anything, it just doesn't feel on par with the Urban Decay Naked Palettes. Saying that this palette does only have a $35 price tag and this packaging is not a deal breaker for me! There is a large mirror and the palette lid does fold all the way back.

Oh my these shades take my breathe away a little bit! There is a gorgeous mix of finishes; metallic, matte, shimmery, and satin. The variety of shades is also wonderful. I love the mix of neutrals and bright pops of color.

Every shade is wonderful! If I had one complaint it would the shade Blush. This shade for me is just too muted and doesn't really look great on my skin tone. Other than Blush every single shade packs an amazing punch, is extremely blendable, and stay try to color.

Hope you can see in these swatches how amazing these eyeshadows really are. I'm such a fan of this palette and highly recommend it. This would be a great gift as well as the perfect gift for yourself ;)

Thanks for reading!

LOC ♥Tati First Impression + Swatches | BeautyWithBrittanyXo

Hello beauties,

First of all, biggest congratulations to Tati! So happy that her hard work, dedication, and kind spirit has brought her this great opportunity. These products are in collaboration with Birchbox, LOC, and Tati. There are a different sets and individual sale items on the birchbox website. The Ultimate Collection is the set I choice because I wanted to give every product a try. This set retails for $46 which is a great price for the quality of these products.

The three vibrant matte lipsticks are gorgeous, easy to apply, and have wonderful staying power. First Kiss is a beautiful nude that is a little on the peachy side. The formula of this one does feel a little different than the other two shades, it feels a little more silky. Wildest Dreams is a fantastic rich blue toned red. Glam Life is a vibrant gorgeous plum. These all sit and stay wonderfully on the lips for a long time with eating and drinking. Even when the darker shades do start to fade I find adding a little bit of lip balm moisturizes the lips and help distribute the product evenly again.

First Kiss

Wildest Dreams

Glam Life

There are 5 One & Done Shadow Sticks and I love every shade! These are smooth and easy to apply. They also last incredibly well on the lid. These eyeshadows do NOT crease at all, I tend to have issues with creasing and with these I don't have any issues.

I highly recommend this entire range and really recommend purchasing the sets as they are a better value. These products are super small in size. The lip products are $8 a piece and there is not a lot of product in the tube and the eye products retail for $10 a piece and are also small in size. Which is a reason why I recommend purchasing the whole set. With first application I did have an issue with one of the tips of the pencil braking off which was a little disappointing. This set does come with a sharpener which is a great little perk. The formula is creamy and sets quickly so do any blending right away.

Again congratulations to Tati. It's exciting to see an amazing YouTuber have such great success.

Fall Favorites Tag 2015 | BeautyWithBrittanyXo

Hi Impact Radius Hello beauties,

Hope you are all doing well. Happy fall season! YouTuber Jaclyn Hill created a Fall Favorites tag and the beautiful Bailey Layne tagged me. There are 10 questions, I didn't answer a question Jaclyn posed, and I added two of my own.

1. Favorite Fall Candle?

In previous years if I were to answer the "Favorite Fall Candle" question I'm sure I would have answered with Leaves, Flannel, Marshmallow Fireside, etc. All Bath and Body Works scents. However, due to allergies I've had to move on from the Bath and Body Works candle line and experiment with other brands. Two that I'm loving at the moment are Scentsational Pure Natural Soy Candle in White Pumpkin (From Tjmaxx) and Archaeology Candle Pumpkin and Ginger Leaf (From Target). I'm loving Soy based candles as I feel like they last longer, burn better, and have a great throw. These two are great and were inexpensive. I picked up the Scentsational one from Tjmaxx for $6.99 and the Archaeology one from Target for around $15.

2. Favorite Fall Lip Color?

Of course I can't pick just one lip color as I'm crazy obsessed with lip products. I love a good bright purple in the Spring and Summer and in the fall I transition into using more vampy dark purples. Two of my favorites are NARS Audacious Lipstick Charlotte and NYX Intense Butter Gloss in Black Cherry. These are both gorgeous and perfect for fall. Charlotte is a little drying but the Audacious Lipstick line from NARS is one of my most favorite high-end lipstick ranges. Their pricey but so worth a try. This shade is opaque, smooth, and the packaging is amazing; love the magnetic closure. A less expensive but still amazing product is the NYX Intense Butter Gloss range. They are intensely pigmented (as the name would imply), smell great, and apply well. One down side is that because they are so glossy they can move outside the lip lines a little so just look out and be sure to use a lip liner if you can.

3. Favorite Fall Drink?

Yes, I admit it I'm a little addicted to coffee. I love coffee all year around and when fall and winter come around I really enjoy seasonal coffees. I've been loving the Starbucks Graham Latte, Dukin Donuts Pumpkin Coffee, and at home I enjoy Trader Joe's Pumpkin and Gingerbread Coffee.

4. Favorite Fall Palette? (added question)

This is a question I added into this tag. To be honest I added this knowing which palette I wanted to mention. I'm so in love with the Too Faced Stardust Palette I'm using every chance I get to rave about this palette. This set is such a great price and the quality of these shadows is outstanding. I do have a full review on this palette so I won't go on much longer but this is a must have, even with all the new holiday sets and palettes this one is still a must have.

5. Favorite Fall Nail Polish? (added question)

Butter London Arm Candy Nail Lacquer Collection in It's Vintage has quickly become of favorite fall shade of the moment. To be honest I was not expecting this shade to work for me. I'm extremely pale and sometimes unique shades just look a little off on my skin tone. This shade is fantastic though. It has wonderful orange and red tones to it that just work lovely together. It's opaque, smooth, easy to apply, and lasts really well on the nails. I highly recommend this shade. It's fun and unique!

6. Favorite Fall Blush?

Surprise, I have two chooses for this question as well. In the fall I love to wear more deep and vibrant shades. Tom Ford Wicked Cheek Color and Inglot FREEDOM SYSTEM FACE BLUSH 63-AMC are two of my favorite shades this fall. Wicked is a little more pink than you'd think would be good for fall but it's fantastic, a little bit goes a long way, and it gives the cheeks the most perfect kissed by the cold look. Inglot 63 is so fantastically pigmented and appropriate for fall. This blush is crazy pigmented and looks stunning when just a touch is used and blended out properly.

7. Favorite Clothing Item?

Recently my boss traveled to Ireland and she was so kind to bring me back this gorgeous forest green infinity scarf. I'm in love with this scarf and it's a piece that will be easy to transition into the winter months as well. It will keep me warm and cozy for months to come.

Second piece is this amazing floppy Joe Fresh Black Hat. This hat saved me from getting sunburnt during my California trip and is going to save my ears in these cooler/cold months. I'm now on the hunt for a burgundy floppy hat!

8. Favorite Fall TV Show?

The Walking Dead is a show that has brought me so much joy and so much disappointment. I'm generally not into scary/gory things but this show is a must watch for me. Even if there is a disappointing episode it's great to cozy in on a Sunday night with my boyfriend Alex and watch the show together.

9. Favorite Thanksgiving Food?

YES a question about food. I love food and I especially love holiday food. Broccoli Casserole
and Mac n' Cheese are two of my favorites.

10. Favorite Halloween Costume?

One of my most loved Halloween costumes as a child was when my mom went all out for my Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz costume. We did the glittery red shoes, the picnic basket, Toto, the works! Loved that costume. Sadly my mom wasn't able to find a photo of that costume so as a treat for you blog readers I've posed a photo of another great costume. Here is a photo of my mom, my younger brother, my cousin, and me as a gypsy.
Joan Harris from Mad Men

A favorite costume from about three years ago is when I was Joan Harris and Alex was Roger Sterling from Mad Men. I think this will forever be one of my favorite costumes. Loved the show Mad Men and I think Alex and I did a pretty wonderful job recreating the characters. Plus it's always fun as a redhead to "play" another redhead!

Love this tag :) if you want to leave me a comment letting me know your fall favorites that would be wonderful. Thanks for stopping by my blog. Have a wonderful day and happy fall!!

Lancôme Drama Liqui-Pencil Eyeliner + Hypnôse Drama Mascara Review

Hello beauties,

I hope you are all doing well and had a wonderful weekend. I was extremely excited to see this package in my mail box when I came home from California :) big thanks so Lancôme for sending me these products to review.

First I'd like to talk about the Lancôme Drama Liqui-Pencil Eyeliner, these retail for $23 each and can be found at Sephora. These liners are long-wearing, easy to apply, and offer an amazing color range to choose from. There is everything from white, black, and brown, to yellow and pink. There is also a variety of finishes, some are matte and others have some shine or glitter. They apply like a dream, are extremely pigmented, and have amazing staying power. These do not smudge, smear, or flake at all through the day.

I'm so happy I've been able to try the Hypnôse Drama Mascara for the first time. I've heard about this mascara for years and now that I've tried it I see why. This mascara retails for $27.50 which is a little steep but if you have hard to curl or little to no lashes I truly think this mascara would do wonders for your lashes. This mascara creates amazing volume, length, and curl. It's great to layer as well if you're looking for more lash ;) I know I'm always looking for more volume and length.

I do notice a little flaking throughout the day but no smudging. It was a little difficult to take off with Jojoba Oil but did remove easily with my Makeup Eraser. When I removed this mascara with my Jojoba Oil there was a slight burning sensation which was extremely unpleasant.  This mascara comes off in little flakes when removing it from the eyes which is a weird feeling. I'm willing to look past the removal process since I love the way this makes my lashes look.

I'm extremely impressed with the Liqui- Pencil Eyeliners and the Hypnôse Drama Mascara. Love that I've been able to try them and I can't wait to play around with all of these eyeliner shades.

Thanks for reading :)

September Favorites 2015 | BeautyWithBrittanyXo

Hello beauties,

It's my favorite time of the month, monthly favorites. This blog post is one of five that I pre-write before I left for my trips. When this post goes live I'll actually be flying back home from California and I would have already meet some of you at IMATS Toronto. I'm already anticipating I'm going to have had the time of my life, so thank you for that.

I have a few makeup, hair, and fashion favorites at well as some random goodies this month. As we usually do let's start with the makeup.

Beauty-

First off for makeup I've been loving the Too Faced Star Dust Palette. I have a video review and blog post on the full set. The palette has been a part of my everyday makeup routine since I picked it up about a month ago. The formula of the shadows are wonderful and I love the shade range.

Second is the Butter London Shadow Clutch Palette in Natural Charm and the duo in Fancy Flurry. I also have a video review and blog post on this palette. These shadows are truly a great formula. They are blendable, pigmented, and last really well on the lid.

If you've seen my recent videos of tutorials you will know that I've been a little obsessed with the Dior Fluid Shadow in 825. This shadow is an incredibly gorgeous shade and I love the formula. It has a liquid finish on the lid and layers best when the product is still wet, once is sets it doesn't layer well but it does stay in place all day. Many of you were asking if these are similar to the Josie Maran Coconut Eyeshadows. I like the Dior Fluid Shadows more. The formula is easier to work with and the applicator is better. The applicator on my Josie Maran Coconut Eyeshadow broke and I did end up returning it to Sephora.

There are two Makeup Revolution products I've been finding myself gravitating to and that is the Makeup Revolution Salvation Intense Lip Lacquer in Didn't I Tell You and the Makeup Revolution Highlighter Peach Lights. The gloss reminds me of the NYX Butter Glosses in its formula. It's creamy, not sticky, and feels hydrating on the lips. The highlighter is pigmented and have a gorgeous finish. These products are extremely inexpensive and are amazing quality.

Hair-

When it comes to hair this month I've been loving the Redken Frizz Dismiss Shampoo and Conditioner. These have made my hair smell amazing, feel extremely soft, and have really helped with frizz control. My hair is in a great place right now and switching to more salon products such has these has really helped.

Fashion-

It might seem super strange to talk about but I wanted to mention a pair of underwear this month. Me Undies have an amazing range of colors and styles. They have styles for both men and women. The one I've been loving are the Cheeky Brief style. They are soft, comfortable, and fit really well. It's a weird topic but we all wear underwear and want to be comfortable so there a go.

Second is my Mint Vans from DSW. Mint to me is like black or white. I wear mint with everything but I do admit I'm a little obsessed with the color. These Vans are more comfortable than both of the pairs of Converse that I have. I've been wearing these constantly and they are coming with me on my trips.

Entertainment-

I mentioned Rachel Platten's Fight Song a few months ago and this month I've been loving her song Stand By You. She has an amazing voice and I could listen to her music all day! I find her music really inspires and empowers me, hope you find the same.

I mentioned the Podcast Serial in last months favorites and this month I've been obsessed with Undisclosed and The Serial Dynasty. These podcasts discuss the case of State v. Adnan Syed. Undisclosed is done by three lawyers and The Serial Dynasty is done by a firefighter/podcaster and is extremely audience based. They are both extremely interesting and a good followup after Serial. These podcasts are based on real life events and people. If you are interested in true-crime or law I'm sure these would interest you.

Two shows I've been enjoying this month are The Last Man on Earth and Masters of Sex. The Last Man on Earth is a Fox show based in 2022 and follows one man through is journey of living life after a cataclysm strikes Earth. Masters of Sex is based on the true story of Dr. Masters and Virginia Johnson as they pioneer of the science of human sexuality. This is a Showtime show based in the 1950's.

Magical Moments-

I'd like to give all of you the biggest THANK YOU and I send virtual hugs all your way. We reached 20,000 beauties on my beauty channel this month and I could not be more thrilled. You are all incredible. I'm extremely humbled and grateful to have all of you in my life. I can't wait to see what the future holds. Thank you for your support!

Although when I'm writing this I will not have attended IMATS I already know I'm going to have the time of my life so I'm adding it to my monthly favorites at a magical moment. I'm hoping to have a post up soon of photos of my trip and hopefully some photos featuring some of you. If you would like to see my travels and weekly vlogs head on over to my vlog channel! :)

I hope you all had a beautiful month. Thank you for your continued support and encouragement. All of you inspire me to create and explore.

Butter London Shadow Clutch Palette Review

Hello beauties,

I've been fortunate enough to try many of Butter London's new releases. They recently released two new Shadow Clutch palettes retailed for $39.00 and four duos retailing at $15.00 and are sold at Ulta, Ulta.com, and Butterlondon.com. The palette is filled with six shadows (0.24oz/each) and they can be replaced by the duos sold separately. The palette I have is Natural Charm and the two duos I have are Fancy Flutter and Moody Blues.

If the duos didn't come packaged in little boxes of their own I would be worried about storing them in my makeup drawers fortunately, each duo is packaged in a little boxed drawer container. This will make for easy transfer of the shadows back and forth between the palette and the boxes.

The Shadow Clutch palette is a great size and offers a great sized mirror. The shadows do also come with shadows names on each individual shadow. It seems like a simple thing but I love when brands place the names on the palette or on the shadows themselves. It makes for easier direction when filming and explaining the shades. The palette also features a double ended brush.

For this look I started by placing Camel in the crease of the eye. Then went in with Leather to build up intensity on the outer corner. I used a little Linen to highlight the brow bone. Fourth step I went in with Citrine right on the lid. I then used Plume smoke out the lower lash line and on the lid to blend Citrine with the darker shades on the outer corner. I also used a little of sequins on the lower lash line.

There are is one other palette available in Pretty Proper and two other duos in Up All Night and Sassy Pants. Currently there is a sale on the Ulta website. If you purchase one palette you get a duo for free with purchase.

Like many of the other Butter London products I have tried. I am extremely impressed with these shadows. They are pigmented, blendable, last well on the lid throughout the day, not chalky or powdery, and the shades are gorgeous. I did wear these shadows for 13+ hours with little to no creasing or fading (I did use an eyeshadow primer as I always do).

Let me know in the comments what your thoughts are and which of the two palettes you prefer. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today.
